* Speech Dispatcher's voices sound very strange in Gnopernicus. They are very
quick and the pitch is somehow high.

The voices are allright, as well as the Gnome Speech driver. What happens is
that buggy settings of rate and pitch are set by Gnopernicus as the default
values. You need to go to Gnopernicus voice configuration and set rate and
pitch to the minimum possible values. This way, you get near the real defaults
for the voice.

* I don't know how to switch languages in Gnopernicus

As of time of this release, Gnopernicus doesn't support independent language
switching. However, you can set a default language for the Gnopernicus
connection in Speech Dispatcher. See
	info gnome-speech-speechd-driver
	info speech-dispatcher

If you really need to switch languages on fly, consider making a temporary hack
into the configuration of your synthesizer. E.g. with Festival this is very
well possible. Setup a fake language, `klingon' for example, which you will set
as the default for Gnome Speech connections. Then under this language, define
voices that actually map to real voices of your desired language. Thus by
switching the voices in this fake language, you will also be switching (the
real) languages. This is quite ugly and confusing, but I don't know of any
better way how to handle this problem in Gnopernicus.
